Source Sorcerers Runners up

The last game of the tournament was the mixed final between Source Sorcerers and Hot Custard who had played each other earlier in the day resulting in a 4 – 1 win for Source Sorcerers. In the final, it was Hot Custard who took an early lead but Source Sorcerers pulled it back and with less than a minute to go it was four touchdowns a piece and looking likely that it was going to drop-off. But in the dying seconds, Australian Tim Diack intercepted a Source pass and sprinted to the touchdown zone to give Hot Custard a 5 – 4 victory and the title.

Mixed A - Autumn League Champions 2009!

Two trophies for Source’s touch teams!

Source Sorcerers and Source Temps’ Tigers were victorious in the Ernst & Young Touch Autumn League 2009.

Source Sorcerers beat Martel-Dunn Recruits to retain the Mixed A title. They won 8 – 0 with Ollie Ward, Carly Parrott and Matt Brehaut each scoring two and Andrew ‘Westlife’ Dunn and Tess Hinshaw adding the others.

In their first Autumn League appearance, Source Temps’ Tigers beat Cornerstone Exiles 11 – 2 to take the Mens title. Iain Atchison scored four touchdowns and Matt Brehaut scored three.

Source Sorcerers are playing hockey over the winter season and are currently doing well in the Business League Division 2.

Mixed A - Autumn League Champions 2008!

In 2007, Source Recruitment began sponsoring Source Sorcerers who compete in Mixed A of Guernsey’s touch rugby league.

In the 2007 Summer League, Source Sorcerers made it to the finals after a hard fought semi-finals against Brotown which ended in a draw at full-time and eventually a win for Source as the game went to the drop-off. In the finals, Source Sorcerers played Untouchables and despite an evenly matched game, they had to contend with runners-up position.

Two months later and Source Sorcerers found themselves once again in a final but this time for the Autumn League. The game against Brotown was another tough one with Source Sorcerers having to take their second runners-up position of the season.

New players, both inexperienced and experienced, joined Source Sorcerers in 2008 and the team started the Summer League with high expectations and great confidence. The team had a great season and made it through to the final for the second time after a fantastic semi-final against CISX Untouchables. Unfortunately the other team to make it to the final was their old enemy Brotown and as both teams have similar strengths, it was always going to be a fantastic game. Brotown finally took the trophy to deny Source Sorcerers the title once again.

In the 2008 Autumn League, and despite having lost the experience of Australians Ariane Turner and Wade Vincent, Source Sorcerers stayed at the top of the Mixed A table for the whole league. Finals approached and yet again the draw was against Brotown. This time it was Source Sorcerers’ turn for victory and the team took their first (of hopefully many!) titles.
