Here at Source Recruitment, we feel we have a responsibility to make lives better and that resonates in the way we conduct our business.
There are so many important initiatives that make our Island special and we’re committed to giving back to the local community wherever and however we can.
For the last decade, we’ve proudly sponsored three Source touch rugby teams; men’s, ladies and mixed.
We’re so impressed with how well they’ve done over the last 10 years, adding numerous shiny additions to the Source trophy cabinet. They were also the first Channel Islands touch team to be invited to the European Club Championships, which we think is pretty special.
We know that it’s all about teamwork, so other sports teams that have benefited from our support include the Kings Mills Running Club and the Atlantic Endeavour Ladies Rowing Team.
We sponsor the ITV Channel Islands Sports Awards’ ‘Coach of the Year' category. In addition to their award, the winner also gets more funding from Source to continue their coaching qualifications.
We support the local business community by sponsoring the IoD annual conference, which helps to set the business standard here in Guernsey.
We’ve also supported the ICSA annual dinner by sponsoring two inspirational keynote speakers, Chris Moon and Jo Salter, and we’ve backed both The Dandelion Foundation and TEDx Guernsey.
Fifty per cent of the Source team has been involved with Every Child Our Future, mentoring local school children to help them develop their reading.
We’re also regular supporters of the Town Carnival, The Harbour Carnival, Les Bourgs Hospice, Friends of Loveridge Ward and Friends of Romania Guernsey.
We often volunteer a day each year to help the GSPCA, whether that’s cleaning kennels or giving pens a lick of paint, and we also sponsor the Guernsey Press’ Homeless Animals page.
Beyond the Bailiwick, instead of sending Christmas cards, we sponsor an animal through the WWF - the polar bears are certainly a staff favourite!
We’re always open to weird and wonderful ideas too...
Keeping Guernsey green
We were delighted to receive the Keep Guernsey Green Award.
To support the local environment, we’ve turned paperless, introduced cloud-based storage, checked the green credentials of our suppliers and embraced online and digital marketing and advertising. It’s been quite a learning experience for some of us!
We’re obsessive about recycling - doesn’t every business compost their tea bags?!
At our monthly staff meeting, we even give out a prize to the person who comes up with the best energy-saving idea which we go on to implement.
